If you’d like to transfer a domain from one registrar company to another, you will need a unique authorization code, which may be referred to by many names – an EPP authentication code, an Auth code, a domain password, and so on. All these names designate the exact same thing – a code that the domain registrant receives from the present domain registrar and provides to the new one during the order procedure. Without a valid code, a transfer procedure cannot be started and this is one of the protection mechanisms against unauthorized transfer attempts used with all generic and with most country-code extensions. For better security, the code comprises of digits and/or special characters and is case-sensitive, so if you would like to transfer one of your domains, you have to provide the new company with the right code.
EPP Transfer Protection in Hosting
Obtaining the EPP transfer authentication code for any domain registered through us under a hosting account is surprisingly easy. You won’t have to sign in and out of different user interfaces, as you can manage both your domain names and your hosting account from a single location – our in-house built Hepsia hosting Control Panel. To get the EPP transfer code for any domain, you only have to visit the Registered Domains section and to click on the tiny EPP icon, which will be situated on the right-hand side of any domain name whose extension supports transfers with a code. Our system will email the code to the domain owner’s email momentarily. If you wish to change the email, you can do it from the very same section of the hosting Control Panel with just a few clicks of the mouse.
EPP Transfer Protection in Semi-dedicated Servers
If you have a semi-dedicated server account with our company and you’ve registered a domain that you’d like to transfer, you can get the EPP transfer code unbelievably easy through the Hepsia Control Panel, via which you will administer both your account and your domain names. If you go to the Registered Domains section, you’ll find an EPP icon next to your domains, provided that their extensions support transfers between domain name registrars with such a code. All codes are emailed automatically by our system to the registrant’s email to make sure that only the domain owner can get this information. In case the currently entered email is no longer valid, you can modify it with a few mouse clicks without leaving this Control Panel section. The change is instantaneous, so you’ll be able to request the EPP code for the respective domain name straight away.
